Nearly a decade after the dismantling of the sentient robot Chitti, due to the havoc he wreaked, his creator, Dr. Vaseegaran, has crafted a new humanoid automaton, Nila, capable of understanding and reciprocating human emotions. However, the tranquility of Chennai is shattered when mobile phones start mysteriously evaporating from the hands of its residents. A spectral entity, bearing a striking resemblance to a bird, is leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Vaseegaran, believing this to be the work of an unprecedented fifth elemental force, decides to resurrect the disassembled Chitti. With the assistance of Chitti and Nila, they embark on a mission to trace the origin of the missing phones. Their investigation leads them to a chilling revelation. The city isn't under siege from an unknown elemental force, but is targeted by the wrathful specter of the late professor Pakshi Rajan. A man turned monster, Pakshirajan's revenge on humanity is fueled by their harm to birds through mobile radiation. With the city's fate hanging in the balance, Vaseegaran is left with no choice but to upgrade Chitti into 2.0, and ready him for an imminent showdown. Together, they must stand against the avian menace of Pakshirajan, in a desperate bid to save Chennai, and ultimately, the world.
