Wentworth Detention Centre has a way of breaking its prisoners and delivering them back into society as empty shells. Bea Smith will one day rule over prison life with an iron fist, but she was once just a young woman placed in prison for the alleged murder of her husband. She learns quickly that learning the rules can be a matter of life and death, but adjustment doesn't necessarily come easy to a woman who's only known a life as a homemaker.
