Will and Margaret Sanders, hailing from Toronto, are public health official and teacher respectively. They are the pillars of strength for their hemophiliac son, Ryan Sanders. Every day is a battle to shield him from harm, both in his daily life and from the blood products he is compelled to consume. Simultaneously in Vancouver, we find another battlefield. Ben and Alice Landry are the guardians to hemophiliac Peter Landry. Despite their relentless efforts to shield him, Peter, at the tender age of fifteen, succumbs to the AIDS virus through tainted blood. The tragedy mirrors the fate of his best friend, another hemophiliac who met a premature end due to AIDS from contaminated blood. Driven by the belief that his life is a ticking time bomb, Peter plunges into a world of high-risk behaviors. In the wake of these trials, Ben, a journalist, succumbs to bitterness that strains his relationships with Alice and Peter. "Unspeakable" is not just a tale of a national crisis; it’s a profound exploration of human tenacity, love, and the struggle for survival against overwhelming odds.
