The Young Ones (1982)

In the quirky, offbeat realm of North London, four eccentric college students - Vyvyan, Rick, Mike, and Neil - cohabitate in an environment as unpredictable as they are themselves. Vyvyan, an anarchic punk, communicates with the world through an explosive language of destruction, while Rick, a politically-charged Cliff Richard enthusiast, provides the ideological contrast. Mike, the cool-headed yet demanding ringleader, tries to keep everyone in check, leaving Neil, the perpetually gloomy hippie, to shoulder the domestic burdens with his dreams of escape only leading to self-destruction. Their peculiar existence extends to their landlord - the enigmatic Russian, Jerzy Balowski, and his intriguing extended family, to whom they reluctantly pay rent.
