Plot

Immersed in the spectral landscape of Northern Norway, close to the Russian border, lies a realm where the Cold War's echoes still resonate, a place called Djupelv. "The River" (Elven) is a chilling thriller set in this enigmatic locale, where the locals live under an unspoken oath of silence, avoiding prying eyes and unanswered queries. But when Thomas Salmon, a resolute police officer with an aversion to secrets, returns to his hometown, he finds the tranquility disrupted. A sinister discovery by a little girl — a severed hand in the river that meanders behind her home — triggers a sinister series of events. The girl vanishes without a trace, leaving behind a village plunged into dread. Despite the ominous warnings from the townsfolk and the inexplicable refusal of the military to assist, Salmon embarks on a quest to unveil the truth. As he delves deeper into the investigation, he awakens forces that have been dormant for decades, stirring up a whirlwind of secrets that threaten to engulf the small village. The River is an intricate web of mystery and suspense, where every ripple in the calm surface could be the prelude to a storm that has been brewing for a long time. Will Salmon navigate the treacherous current or be swept away by the unrelenting tide? The River awaits your journey into its murky depths.
