Plot
The hospital night shift takes a certain amount of discipline to handle, and that's perhaps why so many of the doctors working graveyard at San Antonio Memorial Hospital are ex-military. But that also means that each of them come with their own traumas. Dr. Callahan has been forced to work as a medic in the most high-stress situations, and while that makes him well-suited to the night shift, he also regularly finds himself in conflict with authority. Dr. Alister struggles with hiding his homosexuality for fear of persecution, while Dr. Zia has found a sense of structure in his family that his military peers haven't.
