Plot

In the heart of high school, an unlikely camaraderie blossoms between Jang-il (Siwan), the diligent scholar and Sun-woo (Lee Hyun-woo), the carefree misfit. Both grapple with the harsh reality of poverty, yet their spirits remain unbroken. Their lives intertwine further through their fathers' connections to a ruthless tycoon who orchestrates a deadly conspiracy, pushing Jang-il's father into committing a heinous crime against Sun-woo's father. This tragic sequence of events sends shockwaves through their friendship, culminating in a shocking betrayal that leaves Sun-woo blind, comatose and thirsting for revenge. As the sands of time slip through, their paths cross again thirteen years later. Now, Jang-il (Lee Joon-hyuk), a prosecutor, is tormented by the ghosts of his past, while Sun-woo (Uhm Tae-woong) has transformed into the dynamic CEO of Royal Tree, an investment trust company, with a cold-blooded plan for vengeance. Their lives are inextricably linked not only by their shared past but also by the women they love - Ji-won (Lee Bo-young), a compassionate volunteer for the visually impaired who now orchestrates VIP events at a luxury hotel, and Soo-mi (Im Jung-eun), an artistic genius specializing in hyper-realism painting. As Jang-il and Sun-woo square off in a bitter battle of retribution, the veil of deception unravels, revealing the shocking truths, deep-seated crimes, and haunting secrets from their past. The Man from Equator is an electrifying odyssey of friendship, betrayal, and revenge where past actions cast long, dark shadows over the present.
