Plot

"The Legacy" paints a vibrant picture of a modern family, caught in the crossfire of the '68 generation and their offspring. It captures the enduring echoes of a revolutionary era, its aftershocks rippling through the fabric of modern family life, irrespective of its setting - be it the bohemian abode of an acclaimed artist or a provincial, community-driven, handball-loving locale. The narrative unfolds in the illustrious Grønnegaard manor, nestled in the heart of southern Funen. This is the stage that bore witness to the flamboyant life of the internationally celebrated artist, Veronika Grønnegaard, since the untamed sixties. The story trails the disparate lives of Veronika's four adult children, each profoundly marked by their untamed and disarrayed upbringing at Grønnegaard. Scattered to the corners of the world, they are reunited by Veronika's death and the subsequent settling of her estate. On her deathbed, Veronika bequeaths the manor to her estranged daughter Signe, who was surrendered for adoption. Living in tranquility with her partner in a suburban enclave of the local town, Signe is oblivious to her true lineage. What was initially perceived as a swift and straightforward inheritance swiftly spirals into a labyrinth of buried secrets and deceptive lies. This unexpected journey turns their lives on their heads, compelling them to peer at each other and themselves through a fresh, revealing lens. "The Legacy" is a testament to the profound effects of a bygone era on the lives it touched, and the tangled webs it weaves across generations.
