The Last O.G. (2018)

Emerging from the cold steel bars of a 15-year prison stint, Tray, portrayed by Tracy Morgan, finds himself thrust into an unrecognizable world. His old Brooklyn neighborhood, once a familiar backdrop of his life, is now gentrified beyond recognition, its streets echoing with the whispers of change. But the greatest shock awaits him in the shape of his past love, Shay, played by Tiffany Haddish. Shay has moved on, her life intertwined with a successful, affable white man, portrayed by Ryan Gaul. Together, they are raising Tray's twin children, a reality that stuns him as much as the towering new condominiums in his old stomping ground. These twins, skillfully played by Taylor Mosby and Dante Hoagland, are strangers to Tray, reminders of a life he could have had, should have had. Trapped between his past and a confusing present, Tray yearns to connect with his children but is encumbered by a lack of resources. With no money to support them or himself, he finds himself in a precarious position, relying on the harsh survival skills he honed in prison. Tray embarks on a journey of rediscovery and adaptation, navigating through a world that has moved on without him, striving to reclaim his place in it while wrestling with the ghosts of his past.
