Plot

In the vibrant heart of Tokyo, the everyday rhythms of life for 39-year-old Sakura Toyama are colored by a growing sense of stagnation and frustration. As a hairdresser and assistant manager at a stylish salon, she finds her ambitions thwarted when the coveted manager position is granted not to her, but to her old friend Rintaro Tachibana. Their constant bickering sets the stage for a professional dynamic that is as challenging as it is entertaining. Outside work, Sakura's life is a desert of romance; she hasn't dated in a decade, and her social life revolves solely around her girl outings with her two best friends, Miki and Shima. Deciding to shake off the inertia, Sakura steps out of her comfort zone and accepts a party invitation from Chiyoko Ogami, a salon regular. There, a whirlwind romance begins when she crosses paths with the charming, 24-year-old BMX cyclist, Hiroto Saeki. Hiroto's interest in her ignites a spark in Sakura's life that she didn't realize she was missing. Unbeknownst to her, however, Hiroto is Chiyoko's stepbrother, and he has been paid by Chiyoko to distract Sakura from Rintaro, the object of Chiyoko's unrequited affections. As Hiroto and Sakura's relationship deepens, Hiroto finds himself genuinely falling for Sakura, casting a shadow of deceit over their relationship. Beneath the surface of Sakura's newfound romance, there are other threads of drama weaving their way through the lives of those around her. Shima dangerously flirts with the edge of betrayal as she grows close to Miki's husband. Meanwhile, Miki grapples with the confines of her passionless marriage and the constant interference of her mother-in-law. "The Last Cinderella" is a captivating tale of love, ambition, and the consequences of deception. As the truths behind Sakura and Hiroto's relationship threaten to surface, the viewer is left to wonder: how will Sakura react when she discovers the true motive behind their meeting? How does Rintaro truly feel about Sakura? And can the friendships survive the trials that lie ahead? This dazzling show is a rollercoaster of emotions, a true exploration of the human heart and the lengths we'll go to protect those we care for.
