Plot

This is a British period drama series that is based on the launch of a current-affairs show on BBC in 1956. It mainly deals with the Hungarian Revolution and the Suez Canal crisis. The emphasis is on investigative journalism as the team reports on British involvement in the Suez crisis while being pressured by the government to give a sanitized report for public consumption. The series includes the private lives of some of the characters and how they are intertwined with the possible underhandedness of the government’s involvement in current affairs. The internal politics of a TV news show are also presented.
