The Deuce (2017)

It's the late 1970's, and New York City is at the heart of a new boom in pornography. As video cassettes become the standard in American homes, the brightest of those working in New York City's sex industry see an opportunity to transition from prostitution to pornography. But just because it's legal doesn't mean that it doesn't come with its own challenges. For many of these women, pornography is a path forward to self-employment — but they'll still need to contend with the same pimps and criminals they always have as they try to carve out a name for themselves in this new market.
