Plot
In the heart of Still The King, we find Billy Ray Cyrus as the notorious "Burnin' Vernon" Brownmule. Once a shining star in the country music scene, Vernon rapidly plummeted from fame into disgrace, transforming from a sensational one-hit-wonder into a scandal-plagued has-been. After two decades of obscurity, he resurfaces, now as the silver medalist of Elvis impersonators.
However, Vernon's life takes a drastic U-turn when an alcohol-fueled escapade culminates in the destruction of a revered country church sign. This act earns him an unconventional punishment - a stint as the church's handyman, mandated by his parole conditions.
Embracing the unexpected, Vernon audaciously masquerades as the congregation's fresh-faced minister, navigating through the eccentricities of small-town religion. But Vernon's past comes calling when he stumbles upon a past fling, played by Joey Lauren Adams. The revelation that ensues is as astonishing as it is life-altering - he's the father of a 15-year-old girl (Madison Iseman) he's never met. The resulting chaos, laughs, and heartwarming moments make Still The King a journey of redemption and self-discovery that's as unpredictable as Vernon himself.
