Plot

In the twilight of his life, marked by the looming shadow of a terminal illness, the acclaimed IVF pioneer Julius Bechly (Barry Otto) unveils a shocking confession that shatters the foundation of his award-winning career. From the confines of his deathbed, he admits the unthinkable - his celebrated fertility practice was built on the unorthodox use of his own sperm, potentially fathering hundreds of children. This revelation sends ripples through the life of his one legitimate daughter, the well-meaning yet disorganized Julia (Maria Angelico), who finds herself shouldering the weight of her father's scandalous legacy. Eager to rectify the situation, Julia embarks on a mission to uncover the truth and reconcile with her newfound siblings. From the tumultuous sea of brothers emerges two sisters - Roxy Karibas (Lucy Durack), a troubled star from the world of children's television, and Edie Flanagan (Antonia Prebble), a formidable and uncompromising lawyer. Thrust together by a twist of biological fate, these Sisters find their lives inexplicably intertwined. As Julia welcomes her newly discovered family with open arms, unearthing a sense of belonging she never knew she craved, Roxy and Edie react diametrically. Roxy, ever the opportunist, spots a potential boost to her dwindling career, while Edie remains ensnared by the scandalous crime that birthed their unconventional sisterhood. Sisters (2017) is a riveting exploration of unconventional familial ties, personal discovery, and the chaotic beauty of life’s unexpected turns.
