In the tumultuous world of Ricketts Lane, we find the hapless lawyer Sammy J, whose career seems to be perpetually stuck in a rut. Six years into the legal profession, he's yet to experience the taste of victory; his court appearances are marred by an unfortunate tendency to buckle under pressure, and his sadistic boss Borkman's ruthless bullying only adds insult to injury. Enter Randy, a divorcee still licking his wounds from a bitter separation with his wife Victoria Vincent, the charismatic host of the popular current affairs program, "Thumbs Down with Victoria Vincent". Randy's indulgent pastimes of gambling, drinking, and marital infidelity have led him to a personal nadir. When Sammy J loses him everything in the divorce case, a twist of irony finds Randy becoming Sammy J's unwanted long-term housemate in the spare room at Ricketts Lane. The unlikely duo forms an eccentric friendship, Sammy J with his social ineptness and propensity for spontaneous song, and Randy, the divorcee still yearning for a past love. Their nonchalant attitude towards life earns them the disdain of their neighbors and colleagues, leaving them with no one but each other. However, when Randy's pursuit to reclaim his ex-wife collides with Sammy's desperate bid to finally win a case, the strength of their friendship is put to the ultimate test. In the comedic chaos of Ricketts Lane, Sammy J and Randy navigate their can't-live-with/can't-live-without relationship, teetering on the edge of a precipice that could either solidify their bond forever or shatter it irrevocably.
