QB VII (1974)

In the aftermath of World War II, Adam Kelno, portrayed by Sir Anthony Hopkins, finds refuge in England. A survivor of the Nazi death camps, he swiftly discovers that his anti-Communist affiliations in Poland have marked him as an enemy of the Soviet Government, who accuse him of war crimes on British soil. When a key witness fails to recognize him as the doctor responsible for his castration, Kelno is released. He then embarks on a new life in Saudi Arabia with his wife and young son, dedicating his years to improving public health. Upon his return to England, Kelno is knighted, signaling his triumphant rise from a bleak past. However, just as he begins to savor his newfound prestige, a damning book emerges, accusing him of aiding in Nazi medical experiments on Jews during the war. Forced to confront his past, Kelno sues for defamation. The courtroom drama unfolds in Queen's Bench, Room 7 - the 'QB VII' - and Kelno soon realizes that it's not just the author's words under scrutiny, but his own reputation and past as well. In this gripping saga, no secret is safe and even the most buried truths claw their way to the surface, threatening to shatter the carefully constructed facade of a man who thought he had left his past behind.
