Plot

In the not-too-distant future of 2030, we follow the story of Kenichi Tsumiki, a less-than-stellar salaryman whose professional life is as unremarkable as his love life. Harbouring a long-standing infatuation for a female colleague, Kenichi's spirit shatters when his attempts to win her heart fail. In his despair, he finds solace in an unconventional solution - he purchases an enchanting AI robot, Piple, to be his wife. However, even in his technological sanctuary, Kenichi faces a hurdle as Piple adamantly denies him physical intimacy. Desperate for a resolution, Kenichi seeks out the enigmatic Kaede Miyama, the brilliant mind behind Piple's creation. Miyama, an AI researcher devoid of any semblance of empathy, reveals an unfortunate truth to Kenichi - his initial mishandling of Piple's settings has led to an irreversible error. Instead of offering a solution, Miyama presents him with an unexpected proposition. As Kenichi navigates this complex intertwining of artificial intelligence and human emotion, viewers are drawn into a tale of love, despair, and the search for connection in a world increasingly reliant on technology.
