In the clandestine realm of ninja academies, three misfit students find themselves at the heart of an interstellar battle. Skipping a pivotal class meeting, they unwittingly dodge an attack from the Jakanja, a nefarious brood of space alien ninjas who seize control of the school. Their instructor, Mugensai, narrowly escapes by transforming himself into a hamster.
Suddenly, the trio is whisked away to a secret base by Oboro, Mugensai's brave daughter. Here, they are bestowed with Hurricane Gyros, mystical devices that morph them into the legendary Hurricanger, warriors destined to thwart the Jakanja threat.
This intergalactic confrontation takes an unexpected turn when the Goraijer, two students from a rival ninja school, enter the fray. Believing that defeating the Hayate Way ninjas, the greatest among their kind, will earn them ultimate respect, the Goraijer initially align with the Jakanja. This decision, however, quickly backfires, and they abandon their newfound allies, sparking a vengeful pursuit.
The Hurricanger, oblivious to the Goraijer's ambitions, merely seek unity against a shared enemy. Their attempts at camaraderie are rebuffed by the Goraijer, who stubbornly uphold their teachings and pride. Tensions notwithstanding, they tentatively join forces and ultimately succeed in vanquishing the Jakanja.
Throughout their journey, they confront an array of enemies, from robotic ninjas to monstrous organic creatures. These adversaries, once defeated, are resurrected in larger, more fearsome forms, adding another layer to the Hurricanger and Goraijer's epic struggle.
