Plot

In the shimmering metropolis of Gotham City, billionaire Bruce Wayne (Adam West) and his nephew Dick Grayson (Burt Ward) are more than their public personas suggest. To the unsuspecting city-dwellers and law enforcement, they're merely wealthy eccentrics, but to their loyal butler Alfred (Alan Napier), they're the masked vigilantes Batman and Robin, the city's silent protectors and the scourges of its underworld. As darkness falls over the city, the Dynamic Duo slips away from their opulent mansion, descending a secret Batpole into the hidden depths of the Batcave. Here, their trusted ally, Police Commissioner Gordon (Neil Hamilton), connects with them via the Batphone, relaying urgent distress signals and outlining the latest criminal menace haunting their beloved city. Racing through Gotham's shadowed streets in the jet-powered Batmobile, Batman and Robin employ their astute detective skills, martial arts prowess, and trusty utility belts to face the constant threat of a colorful rogue's gallery of villains. Flamboyant mischief-makers like The Joker (Cesar Romero), The Penguin (Burgess Meredith), The Riddler (Frank Gorshin), and the seductive Catwoman (Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt) continuously plot to plunge Gotham into chaos, only to be thwarted by the caped crusaders. When the police are left baffled and helpless against these formidable foes, they turn to the bat-shaped beacon in the sky. Batman and Robin, the cloaked champions of justice, are always ready to leap into action, safeguarding Gotham from the clutches of crime and illuminating the city's darkest nights with the beacon of justice.
