Embarking on the monumental journey of her only son's first academic year, Jess finds herself navigating a labyrinth of school politics populated by fiercely competitive mums. These matriarchs see the schoolyard not as a playground, but as an arena to proclaim their offspring as the most exceptional, the most gifted, and simply, the unparalleled best. The teachers? That's another can of worms Jess would rather not open. Yearning for companionship among the chaos, Jess joins the Junior Fundraising Committee hoping to carve her niche in the school community. However, she soon realises that the alpha mum, Heather, is more invested in accumulating dollars than building bonds. Amidst the pandemonium and pressure of reaching an absurd fundraising target, Jess finds an unlikely ally in Hine, an easy-going mother of five with a knack for mediating conflicts. Against a backdrop of limited resources and a collective lack of teamwork, Jess and her fellow mums are thrust into a quest to reach their lofty fundraising goal. As challenging as their mission might be, this unique and often hilarious journey through the minefield of school community politics offers a fresh perspective on friendship, motherhood, and the trials and tribulations of raising the "most bestest" child ever.
