Man Up! (2011)

In the heart of today's modernized world, three friends grapple with an existential question: What truly defines a man? Will, a devoted father and husband, finds himself more skilled at selecting the perfect birthday gift for his adolescent son, Nathan, than making sales in the insurance business. His lineage is dotted with war heroes, yet his own battles are fought on the virtual battlegrounds of Call of Duty with a non-dairy hazelnut creamer in hand. His comrades in this quest for masculine identity are Craig and Kenny. Craig, the sensitive romantic, is still entangled in the ghostly memories of his college sweetheart, Lisa, while Kenny wrestles with his simmering anger, often pondering, "What would Tobey Maguire do?" as he watches his ex, Brenda, slip into the arms of a man who is everything he's not, and indisputably better looking. Trapped in a world swamped by Axe ads and the culture of manscaping, these three men find themselves yearning for the raw, rugged masculinity of their forebears. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when Craig's desperate attempt to win back Lisa culminates in him crashing her wedding. It's then that they're presented with a golden chance to redefine their manhood, to embrace their inner warriors, and to Man Up! just like their ancestors. The scent of pomegranate body wash may linger, but these men are on a quest to prove that the essence of true masculinity is still very much alive.
