Bathed in the glow of Frank Sinatra's melodies, the magnificent Miramar Hotel in Miami Beach ushers in a fresh year, under the watchful eye of its visionary owner, Ike Evans. Located in the heart of 'Magic City', the hotel is a beacon of opulence by day, hosting whimsical diving clown shows and poolside cha-cha lessons. But as night descends, a different side of Miami Beach emerges, one of clandestine indulgence and dangerous liaisons. The city is on the brink of a seismic shift, with Fidel Castro seizing power in Cuba, a mere 200 miles away. While the world watches, the Miramar Hotel becomes a melting pot of contrasting worlds. The underworld of dopers, dealers, and gangsters mingles with those sworn to bring them to justice, all drawn to the hypnotic allure of the city's top nightclub performances. Simmering beneath the surface, racial tensions threaten to disrupt the glamourous façade, forcing Ike to juggle not only the Mob and his complex family dynamics, but also the brewing global intrigue right under his roof. ‘Magic City’ is a tale of luxury and deceit, of power and peril, and of a man trying to maintain his empire amidst the turbulence of a rapidly changing world.
