Plot

In an overpopulated Earth of 1997, the Robinson family - professorial patriarch John, his nurturing wife Maureen, and their eclectic trio of children, Judy, Penny, and Will - are chosen for a mission of hope. Alongside the brave Major Don West, they embark on a celestial journey aboard the Jupiter 2, a ship destined for the third planet in the Alpha Centauri system. Their task? To forge a colony that will serve as a new home for Earth's teeming masses. However, the shadows of subterfuge darken their path when the malevolent Doctor Zachary Smith, an operative for a rival power, infiltrates their mission. Successfully reconfiguring the ship's robotic aide to sabotage the journey, Smith unwittingly maroons himself on the Jupiter 2. His unexpected presence throws the ship off course and into the unknown. Now, the Robinsons and Major West find themselves not colonizers, but castaways. Their voyage transforms into a desperate struggle for survival, a thrilling odyssey to navigate the cosmos and find their way back to the home they left behind.
