Lidsville (1971)

A teenager named Mark goes to an amusement park with his friends one day. While there he goes to see Merlo the Magnificent perform magic. As he is watching he becomes curious and decides to go backstage to find out how he did all his tricks. However, as he looks into Merlo's hat it begins to grown. Mark then climbs on top of the hat and tries to get a better look, but falls in and is transported to a land of living hats ruled by an evil, green skinned magician named Horatio Hoodoo. Hoodoo captures Mark, but he manages to escape Hoodoo and his gang of bad hats and takes Hoodoo's genie named Weenie in the process. Mark then heads for Lidsville where he befriends the good hats that live there and not only does he help the good hats try to gain independence from Hoodoo, but tries to find a way to get back himself and Weenie back to the real world.

Lidsville is a comedy show featuring Walker Edmiston and created by Sid Krofft.
