Plot

In the desolate northern reaches of France, in the gritty city of Calais, breathes Samuel Kepler - a cop teetering on the edge of sanity, wrestling with a dissociative identity disorder. His mind is an arena, where he and three other identities grapple for control, pushing him further into the abyss of instability. A botched operation relegated Kepler to the quiet anonymity of a desk job, away from the tumultuous streets he fears could trigger a relapse. But Calais is no ordinary city, and its pulsating underbelly has a way of drawing everyone into its chaos. The discovery of a young girl's lifeless body in the squalid refugee camp known as the "Jungle" catapults Kepler back into the field, forcing him to face his deepest dread: investigating on the streets, with his sanity hanging by a thread. Kepler finds an unlikely ally in Alice, a local cop with her own complex relationship with the city's migrant population. Descended from immigrants herself, Alice wrestles with a paradoxical hatred for the new migrants, making her a compelling, conflicive partner for Kepler. As they plunge deep into the city's labyrinth of mysteries, each revelation raises the stakes higher, threatening to shatter Kepler's fragile sanity. In this bleak landscape, Kepler must navigate the tumult of his own mind and the chaos of Calais. The quest for truth becomes a high-stakes tightrope walk, with his sanity as the ultimate price. In the shadow of the "Jungle", can he unearth the truth without losing himself entirely? In Kepler(s), the unraveling of a murder mystery spirals into an intense exploration of human psyche and the city's dark, beating heart.
