Plot

In the throes of adulthood's relentless grip, we meet Choi Ban Doo and Ma Jin Joo, both 38, married, and grappling with the bitter realities of life. Once college sweethearts, their love story seemed straight out of a fairy tale, blossoming in the hallowed halls of their alma mater, and culminating in a marriage ripe with promise. Yet, fast forward 18 years, and the once smitten couple finds themselves at odds with their existence. Choi Ban Doo, ensnared in a job that drains his spirit, drowns in the monotony and pressures of being the sole breadwinner. On the other hand, Ma Jin Joo, once a vibrant young woman, now navigates the thankless labyrinth of housekeeping and motherhood, her self-esteem withering with each passing day. The strain of their roles, coupled with the resentment of lost youth and freedom, corrodes their bond, spiraling their shared life into a whirlpool of regret and mutual disdain. As their discontentment swells to an unbearable crescendo, they decide to sever their marital ties. But, in an unexpected twist of fate, they suddenly find themselves jettisoned back into the past, into the bodies of their 20-year-old selves - a day before their paths first crossed. Gifted with a chance to relive their youth, they find themselves amidst familiar faces and the vibrancy of college life, a stark contrast to their weary adult selves. "Go Back Couple" is a poignant exploration of love, regret, and the transformative power of second chances. It is a journey that questions the choices we make and the lives we shape, reminding us that sometimes, the past might just hold the key to our future.
