Plot

"Fosse/Verdon" is a captivating exploration of the intertwined lives and careers of two Broadway legends: Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon. Spanning from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s, this series unravels the complex tapestry of their partnership, both personal and professional, against the vibrant backdrop of the American entertainment industry. Bob Fosse, a rising star in Broadway, meets Gwen Verdon, already an acclaimed Broadway dancer and singer, in the mid-1950s while working on their maiden collaboration, "Damn Yankees." Fosse, with his innovative vision as a choreographer and director, and Verdon, with her unmatched skill as a dancer, find unprecedented success together. Verdon becomes the living embodiment of the "Fosse" dancer, perfectly realizing his artistic ambitions on stage, and together, they redefine the face of American entertainment. However, beneath the dazzling spotlight, their personal lives are far from harmonious. Their marriage buckles under the strain of Fosse's vices, particularly his chronic infidelity. Despite the disintegration of their personal relationship, their professional dependence on each other persists. They continue to create groundbreaking musicals together, but this collaboration comes at a perilous cost. "Fosse/Verdon" dives deep into their emotionally charged relationship, exploring how their mutual reliance often led to moments of sheer brilliance, but equally, moments of profound despair. As much a chronicle of their artistic genius as it is a poignant examination of their tumultuous relationship, this series presents an unflinching portrayal of two people bound by their shared passion for their craft, even as their personal lives crumble around them.
