Plot

In the heart of a creaking, crumbling old house, the peculiar Flowers family teeters on the brink of chaos. Maurice Flowers, the creator of the delightfully twisted children's book series "The Grubbs," grapples with his inner demons, while his wife Deborah, on the precipice of divorce yet tied in an awkward coexistence, grows suspicious of Maurice's intimate relationship with his Japanese illustrator, Shun. The oddity of the family extends to their maladjusted 25-year-old twins, Amy and Donald, who are locked in a silent rivalry for the affections of their alluring neighbour, Abigail. Their home, a character in itself, also houses Maurice's eccentric mother, Hattie, adding another layer to their intricate family dynamic. The Flowers family, each member a unique blend of quirks and secrets, navigates through a labyrinth of self-inflicted crises and heartaches, further complicated by their unusual neighbours who seem to be constant agents of headaches. This dark comedy series is a vivid tapestry of eccentricity, unraveling the intricate threads of the Flowers family. It is a tale of a family struggling to keep themselves together amidst the dark secrets and inner demons that threaten to tear them apart, all while wrapped in an offbeat humour that brings light to the darkest corners of their lives.
