In the thrilling world of Elemental Gelade, we follow the audacious sky pirate Cou, who stumbles upon an extraordinary treasure following a typical raid - Ren, an Edel Reid. These unique beings are highly desired for their ability to bestow extraordinary combat powers upon their human partners through a process known as "Reacting". Cou soon realizes that Ren's worth surpasses his wildest imaginations when three members from the Edel Reid Complete Protection Agency, "Arc Aire", arrive with an offer to buy her. With a refusal that triggers an unprecedented attack on the pirate ship, Cou is entrusted with the vital task of safeguarding Ren.
The show introduces three distinct human "species"; humans, Edil Raid/Eden Reid, and Sitting Raid. The Raids are magical entities capable of "reacting" with humans, transforming into living weapons with exceptional abilities. Sitting Raids are artificially created Edil Raids.
Cou, the mighty but newly awakened Edil Raid girl Ren, and three Arc Aile members embark on a perilous journey to the Edil Garden. This "voyage of love adventure" is marred with internal strife due to the dehumanizing use of Edil and Sitting Raids as mere weapons, fierce battles between Arc Aile and "Chaos Choir" - a menacing organization hell-bent on Edil Raid world domination.
Amid the captivating blend of humor, excitement, and heartache, a blossoming romance between Ren and Cou paves the way to a harmonious coexistence between humans and Edil Raid. They unlock the power of ancient songs, or psalms, which unleash formidable magic, ultimately offering a poignant narrative of love triumphing over adversity.
