Plot

In the beguiling coastal town of Broken Bay, the easternmost point of Australia, lies a dilapidated backpacker hostel known as 'Far Out East.' Following the enigmatic death of their mother, the estranged Watkins brothers, Art and his wayward younger sibling, find themselves reluctantly returning to their abandoned roots. Bound by their mother's peculiar will, the brothers face a dual task; to salvage the decaying hostel and, more imperatively, salvage their fractured relationship. Art, initially hoping for a fleeting visit, finds himself drawn into the complicated web of his past. Confronted with the son he barely knows, and the brother he'd rather forget, Art's stay extends beyond his intentions. The longer he lingers, the deeper he becomes intertwined with the lives of Broken Bay's endearing locals and the drifters who have found solace in this seaside sanctuary. East of Everything offers an engaging, often humorous, yet heartrending exploration of family bonds, love, and redemption. It's a vivid tapestry of life in a small town, where everyone is just striving to be their authentic selves amidst the ebb and flow of life's turbulent waves. The more time one spends in Broken Bay, the harder it becomes to leave - a sentiment not only experienced by the wayward drifters but also by our protagonist, Art. This series dives deep into the human condition, making you laugh, cry, and profoundly contemplate the complexities of life.
