Plot
This is a family drama that follows the lives of the Crawley family from pre-World War I to the rise of Hitler. The story also follows the lives of the servants who work in the stately mansion. The heir to the earldom was killed in the R.M.S. Titanic and the new heir suddenly finds himself an Earl. The matriarchs of the family disagree on almost everything as one holds on to the past and one is more forward-thinking. With family infighting and servants with their own problems, this is an epic tale that includes the tumulus times of the early 20th century.
