Every soul goes to heaven or hell in the afterlife, and the stakes are as severe as you might imagine. So when a married couple finds themselves in a purgatory bar asked to play a game for their chance at salvation, it's certainly a step outside of what's usually expected for scenarios like this. Their host Decim claims to be an arbiter of souls, but they can't trust anyone in their desperate quest to pursue the best afterlives they can for themselves.
