The Crime Scene Investigation Unit plays a critical role in police investigations in multiple major cities, but their specialized cyber unit has a unique role to play. Deputy Director Avery Ryan leverages her training as a behavioral psychologist helps her root out cyber-criminals, but she employs a unique strategy for team recruitment — offering jobs rather than jail time to some of the people she catches. The internet is Ryan's jurisdiction, and that involves her in everything from major financial crimes to harassment to even murder and sex slavery.
