Plot

The brave firefighters and paramedics of Chicago get the spotlight in this gritty procedural. Life working in the Chicago Fire Department can often be life-threatening, but it can also be lifestyle-threatening. It takes a certain type of person to marry these people, and the ups and downs of their personal lives can come back to have an impact on their work in the field. But all of them are committed to helping others, and they're all dedicated to looking out for one another. But as often as not, bureaucracy is as much a danger as any blazing fire could be.
