In the mystical crossroads between the divine and the mortal, we meet 16-year-old Godou Kusanagi who didn't merely stumble upon religion, instead, it sought him out with a fervor that upends his life. After vanquishing the God of War in a colossal duel, Godou inherits the title of Campione, or God Slayer, a celestial gladiator tasked with combating Heretical Gods when they emerge to reshape reality to their whims, often at the detriment of the unsuspecting humans around them. This celestial promotion is not simply a matter of prestige in the heavenly realms, it also ushers in a cascade of earthly complications. Chief among them is the magnet-like attraction he now exudes towards the most challenging of girls. The most formidable of these is the bewitching sword-maiden Erica Blandelli, a manipulative enchantress who, with startling boldness, declares her love for him, plunging Godou into a whirlpool of awkward and misconstrued situations. Serving as a Campione, a term borrowed from Italian due to the earliest known account of a God Slayer being penned by an Italian scribe, is a role layered with divine duty and earthly drama, all of which Godou must navigate. This title, translating to 'Champion', is now bestowed upon Godou as he navigates the labyrinth of his new existence, juggling heavenly battles and earthly love entanglements in a world where gods and mortals intersect.
