Being a Hero (2022)

In the chilling shadow of a notorious drug syndicate known as "K," Wu Zhen Feng's life was irrevocably altered. His father, Wu Gang, was murdered and Feng himself was ousted from the police force. Adrift and desolate, he boards a bus to the fringe of civilization, pursued by his steadfast friend Chen Yu. Their journey takes a perilous turn when they narrowly escape a kidnapping attempt. In his daring rescue of Chen Yu, Feng is snatched away by the ruthless drug traffickers, disappearing without a trace. Fast forward five years and the once inseparable friends find themselves on opposing sides of the law. Chen Yu, now a seasoned narcotics officer, is doggedly determined to exonerate his friend, now infamous as the "Addict Lord," a high-profile murder suspect. Yet, amidst the public outcry, Chen Yu realizes that Feng's sudden reappearance harbors a hidden agenda. What ensues is a riveting dance of deception and loyalty, as the two old friends embark on a tense game of cat and mouse, their bond and their resolve tested like never before.
