Plot

In the heat of 1975 India, the echo of colonial past rings through the halls of a majestic mansion in Delhi, now inhabited by John Beecham, a former British soldier. Deserting the British Trade Company, Beecham, accompanied by Indian servants and a mixed-race infant, sets foot in the city with aspirations of obtaining a trading license from the Emperor. However, his path is obstructed by a cunning French General who has woven himself into the fabric of the royal family's trust. As Beecham attempts to sow seeds of a new life, his mansion, Beecham House, becomes a stage for both welcomed and unbidden guests. Family members emerge from the shadows, each bringing their own intricate web of personal and political complications, adding layers of intrigue to the household. The narrative of the first season masterfully unravels the tapestry of Beecham's past, the identity of the infant's mother, and the enigma of his abrupt arrival in Delhi. Through a series of clashes and alliances, secrets are peeled back revealing the true colors of the characters within Beecham House. The first season provides answers, yet leaves the audience teetering on the edge of a cliffhanger, a testament to its unresolved mysteries. The curtains close without the promise of a second act, leaving the fate of Beecham House and its dwellers shrouded in mystery.
