Plot

In the heart of a life she once knew as privileged and carefree, Louisa Atherton (Kerry Armstrong) finds herself spiraling into a whirlwind of challenges at the age of 49. Her world shatters when her wealthy husband Jack unexpectedly dies in another woman's embrace, leaving her with nothing more than mounting debts and a shattered ego. The real shock, however, hits when she discovers the breadth of their bankruptcy, forcing her to abandon the glitzy city life. Returning to her humble origins in the quaint town of Rainbow's End, Louisa must swallow her pride and face the scornful eyes of her estranged, prickly mother Minna (Julia Blake) and the rebellious attitudes of her disgruntled children. In the confines of a run-down house surrounded by acres of memories, Louisa and her daughter Holly endeavour to keep the wolf from the door, accepting any work that comes their way. While Holly grapples with her new normal, the stark contrast to her previously privileged life in a private school in Melbourne causing friction with her new classmates, Louisa embarks on a journey of self-discovery. As she navigates the maze of her past and the reality of her present, she unearths the hidden depths of her own identity. Amidst the trials and tribulations, Louisa stumbles upon an unexpected revelation— the rich history of her small town holds the key to her future. Bed of Roses is a poignant tale of resilience and rediscovery, painting a vivid picture of a woman learning to understand herself while redefining her relationships and her place in the world. The tapestry of Rainbow's End serves as the backdrop to her transformation, the small town's history intertwining with her own as she looks to the future with newfound hope.
