It's been two weeks since Hannah Baker committed suicide, but she's not done telling her story yet. Clay Jensen had a crush on Hannah when she was alive, so he has personal stakes when he discovers a group of recordings left for him on his front door. He soon discovers that these recordings are her audio diary documenting the chain of events that would lead to her suicide. As she begins to slowly outline the thirteen reasons why she chose to end her life, Clay realizes that being responsible isn't always as easy at it means — and that he may be as complicit in her death as anyone.
