Immersed in the bustling heart of Toronto, Canada, resides the unaging Victorian explorer, Sir Richard Burton. A beneficiary of the mystical Fountain of Youth, Burton lives a prolonged existence untouched by time's relentless march. Employed as a chief taxidermist at the illustrious Toronto Natural History Museum, he immerses himself in the intriguing world of famous diseases, preparing an exhibit known as the "Hall of Contagion." However, his grand vision teeters on the brink of failure as he struggles to secure the vital element of plague rats. Meanwhile, a spectral entity emerges from the ether—the ghost of Patient Zero, the French Canadian flight attendant, who, according to popular belief, introduced AIDS to North America. This ethereal figure, far from the dreaded serial killer Burton imagines him to be, roams in confusion, attempting to reconnect with his past life. However, Richard Burton, the man obsessed with his story, is the only one capable of seeing this wandering spirit. A strange connection forms between the two, a bond of curiosity and unexpected affection. As the ghostly presence of Patient Zero intertwines with Burton's long-lived existence, they embark on a journey to uncover the truth about AIDS. Amidst the chaos of media distortion and the propagation of harmful ideologies, they navigate their way towards truth and understanding, challenging the preconceived notions surrounding the mysterious disease.
