Plot

Set against the sprawling and diverse backdrop of Toronto, Ontario, Blood Ties plunges us into the life of Vicki Nelson, a fiercely independent ex-cop turned private investigator. Portrayed by Christina Cox, Vicki, determined not to be defeated by her encroaching Retinopathia Pigmentosa, leaves the police force and delves into the world of private investigation. Her work takes an unexpected twist when she encounters the enigmatic 470-year-old vampire, Henry Fitzroy, the illegitimate offspring of Henry VIII. As they team up, a complex attraction intertwines them, further complicated by Vicki's residual feelings for her former partner and lover, Mike Celluci. Mike, initially a skeptic of the supernatural, struggles to accept Vicki's new life, fearing she might be losing not only her eyesight but also her grip on reality. Amidst this tangled love triangle, enters Coreen, Vicki's assistant, who is as much a part of this unconventional team for her extensive knowledge of the occult as she is for her discretion about Henry's true nature. Her fascination with the supernatural and her infatuation with Henry, however, might just land her in precarious situations. Blood Ties is a riveting journey of love, supernatural mysteries, and personal battles, where the lines between the ordinary and extraordinary blur.
