In the heart of Australia's untouched wilderness, three Yolngu adolescents - Lorrpu, Botj, and Milika - find their childhood dreams of becoming skilled hunters diverging as they venture into the tumultuous realm of adulthood. Botj, having lost his way, has succumbed to a life of misdemeanors, with his actions culminating in a stint in prison. Milika, on the other hand, has been swept up in the thrill of football and the allure of young love, drifting away from their shared Aboriginal traditions. Lorrpu remains the torchbearer of their shared dream, steadfastly adhering to the customs that bind them to their ancestral roots. When Botj finds himself teetering on the brink of a return to jail, the stakes become personal for Lorrpu, who finds himself torn between his own destiny and the salvation of his friend’s future. In a desperate bid to alter Botj's fate, the trio embarks on a challenging expedition to Darwin, with a mission to plead Botj's case before the respected tribal leader, Dawu. Navigating the harsh landscapes of the bush and forest, they must rely on the wisdom of their ancient Aboriginal teachings, Botj’s street-smart instincts, and the enduring ties of their friendship.
