Alligator (1980)

In the shadowy underbelly of a bustling city, a misjudged baby alligator named Ramon is unceremoniously flushed down the toilet by a father overwhelmed by his intense fear of animals. His daughter, a teenage girl who had lovingly adopted Ramon as her pet, is left bewildered and heartbroken. Ejected into the dank labyrinth of the city's sewers, Ramon's life takes a monstrous turn. Bereft of any companionship, Ramon survives on the carcasses of lab animals discarded in the sewer, victims of questionable hormone experiments and dubious anabolic concoctions. Over a span of 12 harrowing years, Ramon transforms from a harmless baby alligator into a gargantuan beast, his size and ferocity amplified by the potent cocktail of growth hormones coursing through his veins. His once soft skin hardens into an impenetrable shield, his gentle eyes harden into a predator's gaze, and his appetite grows insatiable, fueled by a relentless hunger that pushes him beyond the confines of the sewer. As Ramon's curiosity about the world above intensifies, so does his taste for human prey. The inevitable and tragic result is a reign of terror, with Ramon devouring unsuspecting sewer workers and locals alike, his presence a silent, lurking threat beneath the city's surface.
