Isabella, a gifted Brazilian chef with a vibrant personality and an unusual condition - chronic motion sickness, resides in Bahia, Brazil. She finds her equilibrium in maintaining control over every aspect of her life; from steering the wheel to orchestrating the rhythm of her romantic escapades. Her world revolves around her culinary talents, which are the lifeblood of her husband Toninho's restaurant, and her need to be on top, both in the kitchen and the bedroom. However, this arrangement stirs tension in the machismo-charged Toninho, leading him down a path of infidelity. In the aftermath of heartbreak, Isabella seeks solace and a fresh start in the cosmopolitan embrace of San Francisco, taking up residence with her childhood friend, Monica, a vivacious cross-dresser. In an attempt to heal her emotional wounds, she reaches out to Yemanja, the goddess of the sea, offering her broken heart. The goddess reciprocates, freeing Isabella from the shackles of love and causing a mysterious drought of fish in Bahia. A career opportunity arises in the form of a TV cooking show, 'Passion Food', where Isabella's culinary magic and sultry charm make her a household name. Here, she experiences the warmth of appreciation and adoration, feeling truly loved for the first time. Meanwhile, Toninho, struck by the absence of his wife and the inexplicable disappearance of the fish, embarks on a journey north to win back his estranged wife.
