Wings of the Navy (1939)

In the heart of sibling rivalry, Jerry and Cass have always found themselves locked in competition. Now, as Cass ascends the ranks to become a respected Naval aviator like their father, Jerry trades his life beneath the ocean's surface in the submarine service for an exhilarating venture into the skies, joining Class 61 as a flying cadet at Pensacola. During this daring shift, Jerry encounters and is captivated by Irene, Cass's betrothed, igniting a tempest of emotions. Despite battling air sickness, fear, and a hair-raising crash landing, Jerry soars high, earning his wings. Cass, however, is not bestowed with the same fortune. He is tragically handicapped in a crash, forcing him into an early retirement. Undeterred, Cass channels his passion for flying into designing a cutting-edge fighter for the Navy, while Jerry assumes the helm of flying boats in sunny San Diego. Driven by a relentless desire to prove his superiority as a pilot, Jerry considers the unthinkable—leaving the Navy to test the experimental fighter that claimed the life of test pilot Steve Conners. The stakes are high as Jerry must decide if his rivalry with Cass is worth risking it all.
