Crimson Tide (1995)

The USS Alabama launches with the intention of stopping a conflict in Russia, where nationalists have taken control of nuclear submarines and may have the ability to launch nuclear weapons against the United States. Conflict erupts on the submarine when Captain Frank Ramsey and First Officer Ron Hunter cannot agree on whether or not they have received a valid order to launch a nuclear weapon. The disagreement turns into a massive conflict, with crew members taking sides in a battle that could determine whether the United States starts a nuclear war with another country.
