Plot

In the quaint town of New Providence, New Jersey, we find Mike Flaherty, a lawyer struggling to keep his small firm afloat amidst an onslaught of financial woes. The firm's dwindling clientele, coupled with a dilapidating office building and mounting household expenses, have left Mike teetering on the edge of desperation. Despite his predicament, he adamantly refuses to resort to work beneath his dignity, instead moonlighting as a wrestling coach at his alma mater, New Providence High School, alongside his assistant and confidant, Stephen Vigman. As he grapples with his crumbling world, Mike keeps his struggles hidden from those closest to him, including his fiery yet loving wife Jackie and their two young daughters. However, his best friend Terry, embroiled in his own turmoil of resentment towards his ex-wife, stumbles upon Mike's secret. In the midst of his struggle, a dubious opportunity emerges in the form of Leo Poplar, a wealthy and elderly court appointed client at the onset of dementia. Despite Leo's preference for the comforts of his home, Mike manipulates the court to allow him to assume guardianship, secretly placing Leo in a care facility while pocketing the monthly stipend. This precarious arrangement spirals into chaos when Leo's unknown grandson, Kyle Timmons, shows up unannounced. With scant information about the troubled teenager and the whereabouts of his estranged mother, Cindy, unknown, Mike and Jackie reluctantly agree to take him in. As they navigate this unexpected turn of events, Mike discovers a glimmer of hope in Kyle's remarkable wrestling prowess. However, the imminent arrival of Cindy, fresh from rehab and penniless, threatens to unravel Mike's carefully constructed façade, leaving him to wrestle with the consequences of his choices. "Win Win" is a compelling tale of desperation, deception, and the surprising bonds that emerge from the most unlikely of circumstances.
