Wide Open Town (1941)

In the lawless, cattle-thieving town of Gunsight, Hoppy and his trusty band of Bar 20 boys ride in, their eyes laden with determination, on a mission to recover their rustled cattle. The town, under the iron grip of the cunning Belle Langtry, is a simmering pot of outlaw activity. Langtry, more than just a town leader, is a hidden puppeteer for the rustlers, with the shadowy Steve Fraser at the helm of the criminal operations. When Hoppy foils Langtry's gang's audacious attempt to demolish the local printing press, he unexpectedly finds himself donning the Sheriff's badge. With a newfound authority, he begins a strategic game of cat and mouse, setting a clever trap that ensnares one of the rustlers. However, instead of tightening the noose, Hoppy releases his catch back into the wild, confident that the rustler will unwittingly lead him to the rest of the gang and, more importantly, to the stolen cattle. In this high-stakes western tale of justice and deceit, Hoppy must navigate the murky waters of corruption, outsmart his enemies, and restore law and order to the wide-open town of Gunsight. His quest to clean up the town with the help of his Bar 20 boys promises a thrilling ride through the rugged terrains of the Wild West.
