Plot

In the bustling, high-stress world of a brokerage firm, we encounter a kaleidoscope of characters, each marked by their distinct class and eccentricities. Alan, an ardent royalist with an unquenchable affinity for the peerage, shares his home with his wife, April, a woman with an unusual passion for raising cats. Their lives intertwine with a youthful, pretentious trio - Nigel, Giles, and Anthony, who find solace in wine-soaked dinner parties and engaging banter with the vivacious Samantha and the demure Caroline. The aristocratic Lord and Lady Crouchurst are caught in a financial pickle, requiring the expertise of Francis, a senior partner at the firm. Amidst this whirlwind of activity, Alan's domestic life takes an unexpected turn. He returns home to find Mr. Shakespeare orchestrating a photoshoot with one of April's prized felines, and the affluent Miss Hunt, who has her sights set on acquiring one of the unique pets. With his knack for flattering flattery, Alan is thrust into this unusual situation, navigating the social intricacies of his world. Each character in 'Who's Who' (1979) paints a vivid portrait of class divisions, creating a slice-of-life tale that's as intriguing as it's endearing. A world where the nobility of pedigree cats meets the nobility of the English upper class, wrapped in a narrative of dry wit and subtle irony.
