Plot

As the 1990s dawn, an intoxicating wave of rave culture washes over the UK, migrating from the sun-kissed beaches of Ibiza. Warehouse parties, pulsating with rhythmic beats and youthful exuberance, mushroom across the country, spawning an empire of extraordinary wealth for their orchestrators. Amid this vibrant chaos, in the heart of Manchester, dwell best mates Matt and Dylan. Young, ambitious, and no longer content being mere spectators, they yearn to commandeer the pulsating heart of this cultural revolution. As the government's iron fist threatens to quash the rave scene, it's a race against time for the duo. Seizing the moment, they ascend rapidly through the ranks, integrating with the promotion elite. Their journey, a riotous whirlwind, catapults them from the gilt-edged VIP rooms of London's most exclusive clubs to the decadent super-villas of Ibiza, culminating in the unabashed hedonism of Amsterdam. The world they had dreamt of is now their playground, but it comes with a price. Their triumphant ride through success begins to intersect with a darker, more sinister reality. The once indomitable bond between Matt and Dylan starts to fray as the dreams they pursued begin to lose their luster. As they are thrust into this shadowy world, they are compelled to question the aspirations they once held dear and the solidity of a friendship that they thought was invincible. The Weekender is a journey through the highs and lows of a cultural movement, a tale of friendships tested and dreams questioned in the face of unimaginable success.
